Music for Everyone.
Cameron Duncan is a composer, percussionist, and teacher. All three disciplines play a daily role in his life as a musician. He teaches weekly percussion, composition and music theory lessons. Cameron lives with his wife, Emily, and their cat, Peaches, in OKC, OK.
Cameron is the Visiting Professor of Theory and Music Composition at Oklahoma Baptist University. He is also earning his doctorate in Percussion Performance at the University of Oklahoma. His research involves the development of his new eight-mallet marimba technique based on the Stevens method. He has bachelor's and master's degrees in Percussion Performance and Music Composition from Oklahoma City University.
Cameron has performed in a variety of different ensembles, including section percussion with the Fort Smith Symphony and substitute work with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. He performed as soloist with the Oklahoma Baptist University Symphonic Winds and has given two solo recitals and one lecture recital demonstrating his new technique at the University of Oklahoma. He has extensive experience behind the drum-set in teaching private lessons, performing in music theater productions at Oklahoma City University, and leadership in jazz big band at OCU and worship at a variety of churches.
Cameron aspires to continue writing music, working with students, and performing.
