Outside Eyes (Alto Sax and Vibes)
Outside Eyes is written for alto saxophone and vibraphone. The piece highlights the beauty of the alto saxophone as a melodic instrument while the vibraphone provides a blanket of sound underneath. Both instruments have solo moments, but most of the piece is conversational. The middle section of the piece will challenge the saxophonist with difficult rhythms, and the vibist will need to carefully navigate the undulating chord structures. Listeners and players alike will enjoy the pleasant sound of this piece.
Outside Eyes represents the concept of perspectives, and how situations completely change based on whether you are involved, or simply looking with outside eyes.
