Starlight (Harp)
Program Notes: Starlight is an intermediate to advanced short harp solo that reflects on the nature of stars. The flowing 32nd note ideas represent the twinkling of the stars. The "B" section of the piece, featuring the slower, octave melody in the left hand captures the expansive distance from the stars across space and time to our eyes on Earth. Then the chord-heavy "C" section is similar to a pop song texture, representing the brilliance of a full night sky brightened by the light of many stars. The ending is the fading away of the light as the night ends, as the Earth turns away for the day.
