The Goat Trail (Percussion Ensemble)
Program Notes: "The Goat Trail" was commissioned by Corey Hubbard for the Southridge 7th Grade Percussion Ensemble.
The Goat Trail is a scenic trail in the Ozarks of Northwest Arkansas found along the edge of Big Bluff.
While writing the piece, I wanted to capture the sense of excitement and adventure that came from hiking the trail and witnessing the beauty of the landscape all around me.
Each part contributes to the sound world of the piece, with at least one highlighted moment for each player.
Parts: Xylophone and Shaker, Vibraphone, Glockenspiel,
Percussion 1 (Snare Drum and Suspended Cymbal), Percussion 2 (Congas), Percussion 3 (Bass Drum and Chimes), Percussion 4 (optional, Bongos), Timpani
