From this solo's program notes:
The title refers to the popular phrase "boots-and-cats-and" that represents the sound of the basic rock beat that is introduced
in this solo. Give it a shot if you do not believe me! This may be a better first solo to start with if you or your student is more groove-oriented than single-note-oriented. For added fun and challenge, shout the title with the corresponding notes in the first bar.
New skills include:
Playing the basic rock beat in 4/4. Using the standard 3 bars of groove, 1 bar of fill form. Reading quarter rests. (Speaking while playing optional).
Difficulty: Grade 1
Length: 1 minute
